Lifelong Learning Manager
Alun is a member of the strategy and policy team in Education Services. He has responsibility for a range of lifelong learning initiatives and community partnerships. He oversees the work of Careers Guernsey.
Head of Careers
Sarah joined the Careers Service in 1997 and completed her post-graduate Diploma in Careers Guidance. Sarah has worked as a Careers Adviser in schools/Post-16 and with young people in the community for a number of years and became Head of Careers in 2005. Sarah has responsibility for staff management, policy and delivery of all-age careers advice and guidance, reporting and evaluation, managing school/post-16 careers support and working with community groups and agencies.
Adult Guidance Manager
Richard completed his post-graduate Diploma in Careers Guidance in 2000 and joined the Careers Service as a Careers Adviser in January 2002. He was appointed adult guidance manager in 2007 and is responsible for providing careers advice and guidance to those aged 21+ over and for the development of adult guidance in the community. He now specialises in adult Careers Guidance and has completed a post-graduate Diploma in Adult Guidance to complement his professional Careers Guidance qualification. Richard also compiles the annual graduate and school leaver destinations.
Sean joined the team in October 2012. Sean is a qualified Careers Adviser having achieved the QCG Masters Level qualification from UWE in 2009. Sean previously worked for 8 years with careers services across the South West of England. He is currently responsible for schools/post-16 careers support, working with young people in the community and he is involved in organising the annual Careers Show.
Michele Clark is the Guernsey Work Experience Manager - responsible for managing the work experience programme for schools/post-16, strategy and development of work experience as part of work related learning and ensuring health and safety and placement guidelines are followed by employers and schools. Michele has completed the IOSH qualification for work experience to support visits to employers.
Careers & Employability Assistant
Sharon McCarthy joined the Careers Service in March 2009. Sharon provides support to help organise work experience placements for students with Special Educational Needs, organises the Careers Show, co-ordinates the Employability Menu for schools/Post-16 and provides administrative support to staff. Sharon has completed the IOSH qualification for work experience to support visits to employers.
