Trainee Bus Driver

Work Involved:

Operating a bus as part of the Island scheduled bus service. Providing excellent customer service to the travelling public.

Skills and Specific Qualifications Required:

Minimum 18 years of age.
Full Cat B (Car) Driving Licence (Must have held for 12 months if under 21 years of age)

Training Available

Full training will be given.
Including, but not limited to, the following.
Driving tuition to test standard, Theory test support, Customer service, Disability awareness, Safeguarding, Vehicle type training, Routes and diversions, Health and Safety, 'In the zone' for driving staff.

Pay Range:

£15 to £18 per hour after training (Training rates are £10.08 and £12.94 per hour)

Working Hours:

All driving staff are on a 4/7 rota - this is any 4 days a week - Monday-Sunday (overtime may be available)
Duties start between 0440hrs and 1130hrs
Duties end between 1600hrs and just after 2200hrs each weekday.
Duties start slightly later on Sundays.
On Bank Holidays, we run a full Sunday service. We also operate a number of late services (until around 0100hrs) on Friday and Saturday nights; these are carried out by a team of drivers on a dedicated rota.
