Work involved 

The role will be split into four core skills programmes and be flexible to allow the successful applicant to grow into the area of their choosing by undertaking professional qualifications.

Finance and Treasury
To work with Chartered Accountants to understand how accounts are built, training on general ledger maintenance and financial report preparation. Understanding the banking processes and assisting the preparation of payments as well as the opening of bank accounts.

Company Secretarial
Preparing for client board meetings, report writing and collation of meeting papers. Coaching on where to sit, how to present and a seat in the room to hear the dialogue. Training to develop minute writing skills and to communicate at a board level.

Understanding the nature of regulation and the relationship businesses and prospects have with the GFSC. Developing a core knowledge of the regulations and assisting the Company in complying and demonstrating compliance with the required regulations.

Underwriting and Insurance Management
Quantifying and pricing risk, understanding policy wordings and processing contract endorsements and claims. The ability to quantify and manage risk is at the core of every business and we will provide you with tools and insights to understand these core relationships.

  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic
  • Relationship and team building skills
  • Excellent organisational skills to collaborate with a range of professionals to deliver results
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Confident in the use of Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, powerpoint and Outlook
  • Attention to detail


Training available 

The roles come with an expectation that the successful candidate will complete a professional qualification as part of their role and support and study leave will be provided. Supported qualifications include accountancy (ACCA/CAT), insurance (CII) and company secretarial (ICSA).

Management Shadowing
We understand that as well as "doing" there needs to be exposure to management meetings to allow you to picture what your future career could offer. Accompanying a director to various meetings will form part of the role, there will be opportunities for day travel to London as part of this role.

Working hours

Full time in the Guernsey office. Working flexibly from home is also an option.
