Work Involved:

We are looking for a Care Assistant to join our friendly team at Summerland House Nursing Home. The right person will carry out a range of duties under supervision, to ensure high quality care is delivered to residents.

Responsibilities:
To promote a person-centred approach to delivering programs of care.
To communicate effectively with residents, colleagues and visitors.
To assist residents with activities of daily living such as washing, dressing, eating and mobility.
To safeguard residents, act as an advocate in their care and always act in their best interests at all times.

Experience:
No experience necessary, but must have a mature outlook on life and be willing to learn and to undertake mandatory in-house training

Skills and Specific Qualifications Required:

Ability to work as a Team, but also able to undertake tasks on your own
Excellent communication skills
Ability to maintain accurate records

Pay Range: (This is particularly helpful for education leavers looking for their first full time role)

The starting rate for our Care Assistants is £11.83 per hour, rising to £12.40 after a successful 6 month probation
4 weeks paid holiday per year

Incentives:
After one year's service you are eligible to join the Company's Group Pension Scheme (for employees contracted to more than 24 hours per week)

Training Available:

We encourage and support staff to undertake qualifications related to their roles and to further their careers in Adult Health Care

Working Hours and Pattern:

36 hours per week
Rota system with various shift patterns
