Work Involved:
Key Responsibilities
The duties of this role include but are not limited to:-
- Checking and analysing data received from clients
- Assisting in the preparation of data and calculations for standard actuarial valuations and consultancy services for clients including
- Calculating, checking and analysing financial reports
- Preparing and checking standard valuation reports and producing communications and reports for clients
- Using, maintaining, and developing Excel spreadsheets, R programs, and various specialist actuarial software systems to support the advice given to our clients
- Representing BWCI professionally and effectively and maintaining a high standard whether by phone, in writing or in person
- Being responsible for checking the work of other team members
- Providing support to partners and staff of BWCI as required
Skills and Specific Qualifications Required:
Education- Minimum A Grade A Level for Maths (or equivalent). Applications also welcome from graduates.
Experience/Skills- Basic use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and email is a minimum requirement
Actuarial Trainees will be supported to undertake examinations towards a qualification with the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries
Training will be provided in all aspects of the work required
Person Specification- The ideal candidate should be:
- Able to demonstrate good communication and teamwork skills
- Able to work with minimum supervision on tasks assigned to them after an initial briefing of the task required
- Interested in problem solving, analytical, and have great attention to detail.
- Familiar with R (or a similar programming language)
Pay Range: (This is particularly helpful for education leavers looking for their first full time role)
£23-25 k per annum plus benefits including non contributory pension, private health cover, bonus.
Working Hours and Pattern:
Full time 36.25 hours per week. Flexible working hours.
