Guernsey Electricity Ltd are currently recruting a Apprentice Jointer.
Work Involved
The principal role of a Jointer/Fitter is to ensure distribution cables and plant work correctly and reliably. To create this, a jointer/fitter requires sound technique, manual dexterity, attention to detail and a conscientious approach. High safety standards are essential to control the hazards from live working also the construction site or public roadwork environments.
The post holder will train on both HV and LV plant and cables up to 90kV
Skills Required
- 5 GCSE's preferred at Grade 4/C including English and Maths
- Must demonstrate a very high attention to detail as work is safety critical
- Must be willing to travel as some of the training is likely to be carried out in the UK
- Will be required to train and become qualified to drive and handle heavy vehicles, forklifts, cranes, or special tools
- Will undertake training on minor plant items, safety training, and NRSWA Operator licence or equivalent (Road works)
Training Available
Full apprentice training in the UK, plus personal development and on-the-job training
Hours per week
36 hours
Pay Range
£15,000 p.a.
